The 2010 Frankfurt Musikmesse saw the launch of a brand new range of Laney amplification.

The Linebacker range offers the player two channels, each channel featuring 11 amp options consisting of 5 regular modes, 5 hot modes and 1 insane mode to give the player plenty of amp choices. Both channels have the same amp complement, which means you get the option of setting both channels to the same amp model whilst varying the volume levels between channels, which is a great feature.

Every amp option comes with it’s own optimised EQ settings which can be customised for each channel using the Contour and Presence EQ controls. The Linebackers feature two sets of studio quality effects – one offering Chorus, Flanger, Phaser and Tremolo. The second offering Delay and Reverb. 

Each channel can combine up to 2 of these effects with the selection and setting of the effects automatically stored for each channel and recalled during channel switching.Combine all this with an on-board tuner and an AUX input and you have a great, easy to use guitar amp at a killer price.

The LINEBACKER 5 features a battery powered option and an additional MIC channel making it a killer busking amp!

LINEBACKER 5
5 watts RMS, 6.5” Driver, PSU supplied, Battery Power option (6AA), AUX Input, 11 amp models, additional Mic channel, Dynamic Contour Control, Presence Control, 4 modulation FX’s Plus Delay & Reverb, 2 FX at a time, Ultra high quality EQ on each amp model. One satisfied user quote : "The linebacker is a really hard working amplifier, it has 50 watts of pure power and built in reverb. There are 3 channel inputs, which is quite a lot considering how small the amp really is! (Channel A, Channel B, and Channel Mix) On Channel A only, there is the option of a pull boost on the bass and gain controls. Whilst the pull boost is off, you get a nice, medium kind of distortion, suitable for light rock and country music. But once the pull boost control is turned on the distortion goes from mild and warm, to crazy levels.  It is so reliable you wouldn't believe. It dates back to the mid 80's and it has been really well looked after and regularly gigged at high levels, it just keeps giving and giving !! Also the construction is completely solid, people have said that the amp has been dropped and tripped over with no damage."
